Hello Technicians and Contractors,

Welcome to ItsAboutQ a service of HVACRedu.net, an Online HVAC & Home Performance technical education program. ItsAboutQ is funded by California utility ratepayers under the auspices of the California Public Utilities Commission.

We are the Crew at HVACRedu.net. Let us help you understand how this program works.

Goal: Increase the number of NATE C3 Contractors in the Southern California Edison service area. NATE C3 Contractors have at least 50% of their crews NATE Certified. They qualify to take advantage of the Southern California Edison customer rebate program which can provide up to an additional $1,250 customer rebate incentive.

As a technician, everything you need to prepare for the NATE Certification Exams is available right here, online, at your convenience and on your schedule. We have been helping HVAC Technicians become NATE certified and achieve other industry licenses and certifications for over a decade. If you are willing to do the study we are ready to help you get certified, too!

First Step

First Step: Complete the short Qualification Questionnaire to let us know who you are. While we are checking on your eligibility for the program you can hang out in the Campus Lobby (First Access Level) and mess with the stuff that we have provided there for HVAC technicians.

Second Step

Second Step: If you qualify, you will receive an email notice that you’ve been elevated to the Second Access Level. When you log in again you will have access to the TCA (Technical Core Assessment). The TCA is a series of assessments designed to find out how much you already know about HVAC. If you wish to become NATE certified you must take the TCA so we can figure out the best education track to put you on. Once your TCA is complete, you will receive an email from us that will include your PEP (Personal Education Plan), and you will be given access to the third level (Course Level) of the campus. The PEP is your path to becoming a Certified Technician.

Third Step: At the Third Access Level, you will be enrolled into the first course in your PEP. You’ll have 60 days to complete it with a score of at least 75%, then you’ll be enrolled into the next course, completing them one at a time until your PEP is finished. Some technicians will have a few courses; others will have more, it all depends on your TCA scores.

Fourth Step

Fourth Step: When you have completed your PEP you will be thoroughly prepared to take your NATE Certification Exam. You will be issued a voucher for the exam, along with a list of authorized testing locations and proctors. Choose your location, make an appointment, and take the exams!

Remember, the most important step is the first one, or you won't get anywhere.

The Goal is to get you Industry Certified!
